Five Strong Reminders if You are Having a Difficult Time
We all have been there. A bad day when nothing seems to go right or a difficult phase when, despite our best efforts, things just do not turn out the way we had expected. If you are having one of those, the following are five simple reminders for you.
It is OK to be ‘not OKAY’
It may sound easy but honey…IT IS OKAY! Shit happens. You feeling sad and maybe helpless sometimes, is natural. We have no control over how life tests us. What we can control, however, is how we go through the situation. The fact that you are not alone in this is something you need to understand. Talk it out, sleep it out, read it out, vacay it out. Make ‘effortless’ efforts to better the situation…do things that help you move past the situation.
Give it Time
‘Time heals everything’
How many times have we heard this? Well it is the ultimate truth.
Time does heal everything and the process accelerates only when you are consciously willing to heal. Do not be hard on yourself…you are only human. You do not have to figure out everything, like right now…You need time. Give yourself the privilege of being a human, having the power of hope. You WILL get better eventually and You Will Heal.
Accept it, Process it, Release it
We often divert our minds from the sadness we are feeling and choose to deny it. Getting immersed in work, not contemplating over the situation or avoiding talking about it…is not gonna help. It only delays the healing process. Regardless of how tough it is initially, we NEED to ACCEPT the heartbreak, the rejection, the loss and the pain. Then Process it.
Understand that it happened for a reason. Let it sink in. Make peace with what you are going through and release it.
It is Not Permanent
Nothing is permanent. Personally, this has been the mantra of my life. You CAN choose the process of healing to be easier, less confusing and more comfortable. Just remind yourself that moving on is inevitable. A difficult time is temporary owing to its very nature. No matter how bad a situation is…IT WILL PASS. IT DOES.
Do Not be Afraid to Start Over
Having to start it all over again? Difficult. Not impossible though. Also, what about just changing the perspective a teeny tiny bit over here?
A whole new opportunity to start again???? YES.
Can we do it differently this time??? YES.
Can we do it better??? Of course!
Will the outcome be different this time??? I mean…..IT HAS TO!
Point being…you can always have another chance. And it will appear ONLY when you start looking for it.
With all my heart, I hope this article makes you feel better, lighter and brighter. Remember, it is ok, give it some time …and accept that it happened for a reason. No matter how difficult it seems right now, it is not permanent. You can always start again and things will be different this time.
